1,273,718. Polytetrafluoroethylene tapes. DURHAM CHEMICALS Ltd., and ENERGY CONVERSION Ltd. 24 April, 1969 [25 April, 1968], No. 14611/71. Divided out of 1,256,706. Headings B5A and B5B. [Also in Division C3] A foraminous cellular tape is produced by calendering an unsintered foraminous cellular polytetrafluoroethylene tape with rolls heated from 40-200‹ C. such that the tape has a permeability to air of not more than 8.8 x 10<SP>-6</SP> c.c.s./sec./cm.<SP>2</SP>/mm. H 2 0. The tape may be made by extruding a mixture of polytetrafluoroethylene and white mineral oil as lubricant, calendering the tape as above and then removing at least some of the lubricant from the tape.
