Abstract

1,273,479. Testing cam profiles electrically. GERHARDT MESSMASCHINENBAU KG. July 28, 1970 [July 28, 1969], No.36490/70. Heading G1N. Apparatus for checking the accuracy of the profile of a cam 1, Fig. 1, driven by a motor 3, comprises a probe 4 associated with a transducer 5 for measuring the actual radial lengths of the cam, and a pulse generator 7 feeding a stepping motor 9 driving a store unit 10 which provides signals representing the desired radial lengths. The two sets of signals are compared at 6, to provide an error signal 12. The store unit 10 may be a punched tape or magnetic tape.
