Abstract

1,272,908. Intruder alarms. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRIC CORP. 27 July, 1970 [15 Sept., 1969], No. 36284/70. Heading G4N. [Also in Division G1] A pair of compliant tubes 12, 14 are buried along a boundary and are coupled to a transducer 62 comprising a pressure sensitive element 64, opposite surfaces of which having pressure exerted by fluid from the respective tubes 12, 14, so that transducer 62 responds to the difference in pressure. If tubes 12, 14 are filled with water (with or without antifreeze) a diaphragm 70 protects the transducer, chamber 50 being filled with oil. The transducer 62 may be a ceramic piezo-electric crystal. Test pulses at 60 Hz may be applied to the tubes 12, 14.
