Abstract

1,272,487. Milking equipment. ALFALAVAL A.B. 17 July, 1970 [18 July, 1969], No. 36423/69. Heading A1M. Milking equipment includes a teat cup cluster, movable between a milking position to an inoperative position. The equipment is vertically adjustable, and comprises a teat cup cluster 10, Fig. 2, carried on a support structure 12, held firmly to support arm 14 by cylinder 14b for movement of equipment by cylinder 15 between the two extreme positions, but, in the milking position, allowing relative movement between the support arm and the teat cluster. A flow detector, Fig. 3, is used with the equipment to detect the end of milking. Cup 22 fills when the milking rate is higher than the drainage rate through aperture 23, and empties and thus rises, under the action of spring 26, when the milking rate reduces, operating microswitch 27, which actuates the pneumatic cylinders, via solenoid operated valves, and this moves the cluster away from the milking position.
