Abstract

1,272,361. Roof supports for mines. C. C. WHITE. 19 Jan., 1970 [25 June, 1969], No. 2493/70. Heading E1F. [Also in Division F2] A roof support for a mine passage or opening comprises a pair of anchor members 38' installed in holes in the roof in spaced opposed relationship, an opposed rod or bolt 32', 84' connected with each anchor member and extending downwardly in the holes, a collar 40' in sleeved engagement with the lower. portion of rod 32', and connecting means extending between the collar and the other rod. A strap 52' having an enlarged end in engagement with collar 40 is connected, by a wedge box joint 74' as described in Specification 1,271,215, to link 72' which is also connected to the end portion of rod 84' as shown, or to a strap connected to a collar on the other rod.
