Abstract

Saddles. - The leather cover of a motor-cycle or like saddle is secured to the metal seat plate or top by one or more lengths of wire, string, &c. threaded through holes or incisions in the edge of the seat plate and through corresponding holes or incisions in a turned-over edge of the cover c. As shown in Fig. 3, the seat plate a is formed with raised or arched parts d producing corresponding parts e in the cover edge, the wire or the like f being threaded so as to lie over the intermediate parts of the cover edge. The wire or the like may be a continuous length with the ends secured together, or several lengths may be used; or separate short pins passed through the holes or incisions in each raised part may be secured by bending over the ends.
