1,271,009. Steam irons. ROWENTAWERKE G.m.b.H. 18 Dec., 1969 [23 Dec., 1968], No. 61866/69. Heading D1A. A sprinkler iron has a push button 4, axial displacement of which actuates a pump 1 for liquid to be sprinkled and rotation of which opens or closes a feed regulator valve 15. The pump 1 is a diaphragm pump with a thickened centre to the diaphragm abutted by the bottom surface of the plastics button 4 and discharges through a nozzle assembly 14. The button 4 is moulded with a cam surface 16 rotation of which pivots a lever 17 to raise or lower a rod 19 attached to the valve 15.
