Abstract

1,270,720. Seals. S.K.F. KUGELLAGERFABRIKEN G.m.b.H. 30 Oct., 1969 [31 Oct., 1968], No. 53245/69. Heading F2B. A resilient sealing ring 6 for a bearing comprises a sealing lip 8 formed on one peripheral surface, an annular series of recesses 9 adjacent the sealing lip and a second annular series of recesses 7 adjacent the other peripheral surface. The recesses 9 are spaced apart by inclined ribs 10 which resiliently support the sealing lip 8 against an annular portion 11 of the ring. The recesses 7 facilitate insertion of the ring into the groove 4 of the outer bearing race 1.
