Abstract

127,035. Young, E., and Blackburn Aeroplane & Motor Co. March 23, 1917. Wire - strainers. - Oppositelythreaded standard fork ends 5, used in aeroplane construction, are adapted for straining stay wires by combining them with a right and left handed screwed rod 1 which is provided at the centre with an enlarged portion 3 formed with a hole 4 or made of polygonal section to facilitate rotation. Connexion to a flat plate is made by means of pins 8 passed through holes 7 in the forked end and locked by split-pins. Thimbles 9 may be mounted on the pins 8 when securing the device to stay wires.
