Abstract
1,270,358. Stocking supporting garment. BALI CO. Inc. 14 Oct., 1970 [13 April, 1970], No. 48768/70. Heading A3V. A stocking supporting garment having leg and body sections, especially a panty girdle of otherwise standard construction, the inside surface of each leg section carrying elongated friction members 17, each comprising a group of friction elements 20 either mounted on a panel 18 or incorporated in the material of the leg section. The elements may be made from natural or synthetic gripping material, such as rubber, or from a tacky material, and may be arranged substantially vertically in undulating lengths as shown in Figure 2, or in substantially parallel straight lengths: (Fig. 5), or in shorter lengths arranged substantially horizontally (Fig. 7) or inclined to the horizontal (Fig. 8). The stocking top is gripped between the friction members and the leg of the wearer, thus preventing the stocking from slipping.
