Abstract

126,897. Fison, F. J., and Lynn, G. W. Oct. 16, 1918. Lighting fires.-A device for lighting fires in stoves consists of a portable collapsible gasholder, adapted to be charged from ordinary gas pipes, with a burner. Fig. 1 shows a gas holder consisting of a rigid vessel A with a flexible upper part C surmounted by a disk B and rigid cover D. The gas-holder is filled by means of a. pipe connected to a cock K, which is then closed. The cock supplying the burner attached to the part A is then opened, and the gas flowing from the burner is ignited. A rod F passes through the guide E, and receives a variable weight P which forces the gas out through the burner. The gas holder may be telescopic, and may be charged by a compressor. The cock K and the cock controlling the gas burner may be replaced by a three-way cock. A spring G is placed between the parts B, E to relieve the strains on the flexible portion C of the gas-holder.
