1,268,783. Benzodiazepine derivatives. RAVIZZA S.A. 7 April, 1970 [8 April, 1969; 28 Feb., 1970], Nos. 18034/69 and 9759/70. Heading C2C. Compounds of the general formula (R = F, Cl, Br, NO 2 ) are resolved with ( + ) or ( - ) ephedrine in ethyl acetate. The less active ( - ) isomers may be hydrolysed to the racemic 3- hydroxy compounds, esterified and recycled. The ( + ) isomers may be administered (optionally after conversion to a salt) in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier.
