Abstract
1,210,809. Benzodiazepine derivatives. ROUSSEL-UCLAF. 14 Dec., 1967 [14 Dec., 1966], No. 56937/67. Heading C2C. Compounds of the general formula (R<SP>1</SP> 1 , R<SP>1</SP> 2 = H, halogen, OH, OMe, NO 2 , carboxyl esterified with C 1-3 alcohol; R<SP>1</SP> 3 = H, alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aralkyl, (cycloalkyl)- alkyl; R 4 = Me, aryl) are prepared by cyclizing a compound (optionally prepared in situ by reducing the corresponding nitro compound) of the formula (R<SP>1</SP> = C 1-4 alkyl), followed by introduction of R<SP>1</SP> 3 when not H. The above compounds are tranquilizers, anticonvulsants and analgesics, and possess anti-inflammatory and antipyretic activity. They may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them together with a carrier.
