The invention comprises compounds of the formula in which A 1 represents the group F 3 C-SO- or F 3 C-SO 2 -, A 2 and A 3 each represents a hydrogen atom or the group F 3 C-S-, F 3 C-SO-or F 3 C-SO 2 ; or A 1 , A 2 and A 3 each represents the group F 3 CS-; or A 1 represents the group F 3 C-S-, A 2 represents a fluorine, bromine, or iodine atom and A 3 represents a hydrogen or halogen atom; or A 1 represents the group F 3 C-S- and A 2 and A 3 each represents a hydrogen atom, R 1 represents an aliphatic C 1-5 radical which may be linked with the nitrogen atom through an oxygen atom and R 2 represents a hydrogen atom or an aliphatic C 1-5 radical; or A 1 and A 2 each represents the group F 3 C-S- and A 3 represents a hydrogen atom, R 1 represents an alkynyl C 1-5 group or an aliphatic C 1-5 radical which is linked with the nitrogen atom through an oxygen atom and R 2 represents a hydrogen atom or an aliphatic C 1-5 radical with the proviso that when either A 2 or A 3 represents a hydrogen atom the other does not represent a chlorine atom. They are prepared by the condensation of an appropriate carbamic acid, carbamic acid halide or monosubstituted urea or isocyanate with a primary or secondary amine or hydroxylamide or N-O- alkyl hydroxylamine. The compounds have herbicidal and microbiocidal activity, and in compositions with a suitable carrier and, if desired, a solid vehicle, emulsifier, dispersant, adhesive, solvent or fertilizer may be used for the pre- and postemergence treatment of plants.
