Abstract
1,268,325. Refrigerating; heat transfer systems. ELECTROLUX Ltd. 4 Dec., 1970 [4 Dec., 1969], No. 57650/70. Headings F4H and F4U. The evaporator 12 of a continuous-cycle absorption refrigeration system of the inert gas type is in heat exchange relationship with the condenser 18 of a closed-cycle liquid-vapour heat transfer system charged with a liquid mixture (e.g. FREON 12 and FREON 13) such that the liquid components having different boiling temperatures cool chambers 10, 11 to different temperatures. The chambers 10, 11 are thermally insulated from each other and contain an evaporator 19, 21 respectively of the system connected to a common liquid reservoir 17. In operation liquid from the reservoir flows to the evaporator 21 wherein the lower boiling point liquid vaporizes to carry upwardly the higher temperature boiling liquid and vapour from the upper end of reservoir 17 flows through an insulated conduit 20 to the condenser 18 wherein the vapour components with high boiling temperatures are condensed at first to carry those of low boiling temperatures into the low temperature evaporator 19. In a modification the two evaporators may be formed by a single continuous conduit.
