A synchronizing mechanism for a positive clutch includes thrust bars 6 resiliently held in slots 7 of a hub 4 and urged radially into engagement with an axially slidable clutch sleeve 5 by a wire spring 1 which has convolutions 2, 2a arranged one on each side of the hub 4 and the convolutions are connected by a cross-piece 3 which passes through one of the slots 7. The spring 1 may be made of wire having a square or circular cross-section.
