Abstract

1,265,342. Electrode boiler. FABERGE Inc. 20 Feb., 1969 [20 Feb., 1968], No. 49038/71. Divided out of 1,265,341. Heading H5H. To minimise the risk of electric shock during filling of the electrode boiler 40 of a vaporizer, liquid is introduced into a filling trough 50, is discharged therefrom by an orifice or orifices 52 in the form of discrete drops on to the upper end of an inclined channel 56, 58, flows down the channel 56, 58 and falls from the discharge end 60 in the form of discrete drops into the boiler 40. Liquid droplets from orifice or orifices 52 impinge on a curved fillet 57 of the channel thereby introducing further dis-continuity. The slope of channel 56, 58 is such that the flow rate of the droplets increases so that they spread lengthwise with a consequent reduced cross-section and increased resistance. Vapour is discharged when a spring-closed valve 78, 80, 84 is opened by means of a vapour discharge tube provided with a bayonet fitting which is pushed against the valve when a supply of vapour is desired.
