Abstract

1,265,148. Break spinning. WOOL INDUSTRIES RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. 30 April, 1969 [1 May, 1968], No. 20537/68. Heading D1D. A break spinning pot is provided with a multiplicity of ,orifices 12, 13 which are elongated in a direction at right angles to the axial direction of the fibres as they are laid on the surface of the pot. The orifices provide an exhausting action for impurities. The pot can be provided with a deflector (26) which directs impurities away from the working parts of the spinning machine, (Fig. 8). The deflector can be integrally formed with, attached to or be separate from the pot. A doctor means may remove impurities from the outer surface of the pot. The orifices may increase, decrease or be constant in cross-sectional area from the inner face to the outer face thereof. The orifices may run at an angle to the pot surface. The pot may be formed in two parts joined by bridging elements which define the orifices. The surface on which the fibresare laid may be V-shaped or a truncated V-shape. The means defining the orifices may form a false internal wall for the pot.
