1,263,609. Polymeric polyisocyanates. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER A.G. 14 July, 1969 [19 July, 1968], No. 35264/69. Heading C3R. Polymeric polyisocyanates are obtained by reacting a di- or polyisocyanate with a mixture of a ketone and an aliphatic, araliphatic or cycloaliphatic di- or poly-amine, or with a mixture of the corresponding ketimine and water. In examples 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanate is reacted with 1,6-hexamethylene diamine and cyclohexanone, with 1,3-xylylene diamine and cyclohexanone, with 1 - aminomethyl - 5 amino - 1,3,3 - trimethyl - cyclohexane and cyclohexanone, with 1 - aminomethyl - 5. amino - 1,3,3 - trimethylolcyclohexane and methylisobutylketone, with diethylene triamine and cyclohexanone, with water, methyl isobutylketone and a bisketimine prepared from methyl isobutylketone and 1,6-hexamethylene diamine, and with water, cyclohexanone and a bisketimine prepared from acetone and 1,6- hexamethylene diamine; m-xylylene diisocyanate is reacted with cyclohexanone and 1,6- hexamethylene diamine, and with water, cyclohexanone and a bisketimine prepared from cyclohexanone and m-xylylene diamine; isocyanatomethyl - 5 - isocyanate - 1,3,3 - trimethylcyclohexane is reacted with cyclohexanone and 1,6 - hexamethylene diamine; and isophorone diisocyanate is reacted with water, cyclohexanone and a bisketimine prepared from cyclohexanone and isophorone diamine. Solutions of the polymeric polyisocyanates are mixed with zinc octoate, stannous octoate, tin dibutyldilaurate and dimethylbenzylamine as catalyst, and used as lacquers which cross-link on standing. Uses.-In the production of lacquer coatings and foamed plastics.
