Abstract

1,262,817. Automatic positioning means for an engine piston. HUSQVARNA VAPENFABRIKS AB. Aug. 26, 1970 [Aug. 29, 1969], No.40957/70. Headings F1K and F1M. In an internal-combustion engine, automatic positioning means for a reciprocable piston 5 of the engine serves to move the piston from any position in a complete working cycle to a particular position and includes a tensioning means 7 and at least one elastic member 15 which as a result of reciprocation of the piston mutually actuate each other so that the elastic member is tensioned during the passage of the piston from the particular position in the working cycle and relaxed during movement of the piston towards the particular position. A permanent magnet may be arranged on the engine body and a second co-operating magnet may be arranged on the flywheel. The positioning means may be used when starting an engine by passing gas under pressure to the engine cylinder or with pull cord starting means.
