The bed plate 1 of a platform vehicle is secured directly to longitudinal stiffeners 2, 3 and the ends of the members 2, 3 are closed by apron plates 4 secured to the members and the bed plate. The members 2, 3 may be tubular and joined along their undersides by a further plate.
