Abstract

1,262,364. Collapsible blinds. DECOR SPECIALTIES Inc. 8 Sept., 1969, No. 44298/ 69. Heading E1J. In a concertina type blind having bottom and top weighted bars 2, 3, together with respective operating cords 6, 6a, 6b and 10, 10a, 10b reeved on pulley sheaves 7, 11 and connected at one end to the bars and at the other ends to take up spools 9 to impart constant tension to the cords to actuate a cord gripper 13 when the relevant cords 6a, 10a are drawn to one side and enable the bottom bar 2 to be raised or the upper bar 3 to be lowered, the bars 2 and 3 are provided at their ends with buttons 4 which are guided in lateral channels 5 so that the threading of guide rods or ropes through the blind material is avoided. The pulley sheaves are located in a header bar 8 and a portion of the operating cords is positioned in the guide channels 5. A storage container 21 may be superimposed on the take-up spools 9, 12, the operating cords extending through the removable top and fixed bottom walls of the container whereby the bars 2, 3 and the pleated fabric folded, can be moved to inoperative position within the container 21, to allow the window with which the blind is associated to be pivoted to open position for cleaning.
