Abstract

1,262,231. Textile treating compositions. KANEGAFUCHI BOSEKI K.K. 5 Aug., 1970 [5 Aug., 1969], No. 37870/70. Heading C3T. [Also in Division D1] A composition for coating fibres comprises in organic solvent solution of 0À1-10 wt. per cent solids a mixture of 10-1 p.b.w. of a polyurethane prepolymer of isocyanate group content 1À0-3À0 wt. per cent and molecular weight 3000-50,000, and 1-10 p.b.w. of a polyorganosiloxane consisting predominantly of a polydiorganosiloxane diol of viscosity 1000- 100,000 cS./25‹ C. in 15% trichloroethylene solution. The polysiloxane may comprise up to 20 wt. per cent of an alkylhydrogen polysiloxane of viscosity not exceeding 1000 cS/25‹ C. In examples compositions are prepared containing in solution in C 2 HCl 3 , CH 3 .CCl 3 , C 2 Cl 4 , MEK, or xylene, a polydimethylsiloxane diol, which may contain cyanopropyl groups, optionally a methylhydrogen polysiloxane, a polyether or polyester polyol/diisocyanate prepolymer of various kinds, a dibutyltin or stannous dicarboxylate and optionally a silane "primer" which is (MeO) 3 Si(CH 2 ) 3 NH(CH 2 ) 2 NH 2 , (MeO) 3 Si(CH 2 ) 3 O-glycidyl, (MeO) 3 SiCH 2 CH 2 -epoxycyclohexyl, or (MeO) 2 SiMe(CH 2 ) 3 NH(CH 2 ) 2 NH 2 .
