Abstract
1,262,111. Earth working. T. N. W. LEIJON. 25 Feb., 1969 [28 Feb., 1968 (2); 20 Sept., 1968], No. 9939/69. Heading E1F. A tractor vehicle implement holder 3 has two laterally spaced supports for mounting of working implements 2 having fixed or pivotable relationship to the holder, for example a front dump bucket, or a front and one or two-way side dump bucket, or a pivotable lumber lift fork and includes one or more hydraulic jacks 16, 17 which can pivot the implement about either support, and locking means to lock the implement to each support and movable in and out of locking position by the jack or jacks. The implement 2 can be pivoted about shafts 29 or 30 rotatably mounted in the holder and of rectangular cross-section. Initial extension of a jack 16 or 17 causes rotation of one of the shafts 29 or 30 so that the claw 6 or 7 on the implement surrounding the shaft can be released. Instead of the shafts being of rectangular shape they may have pins projecting at right angles therefrom to engage shoulders on the implement. A jack 14 or a pivotal plate may be provided to permit the implement to withstand heavy thrusts when pivoted. If an implement is not to be pivoted plate 35 is fixed to the holder so that the actuation of the jacks merely rotate both shafts into an implement releasing position. In other embodiments described the shafts are mounted on the implement and engage U-shaped brackets on the holder. A plate normally covers the open ends of the brackets. A single jack is provided and on actuation shifts the plate to uncover one of the brackets.
