1,261,270. Stabilization of 1,1,1-trichloroethane. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 12 June, 1970 [22 July, 1969], No. 36830/69. Heading C2C. [Also in Division C5] 1,1,1-Trichloroethane is stabilized by an admixture of 1-5% by weight of dioxane and 0À1-1À0% by wt. of glycidol (2,3-epoxypropanol-1). 1-5% by wt. of isopropyl nitrate or 1-5% by wt. of 1,2-dimethoxyethane may be present as additional stabilizer. The stabilized solvent is used in metal degreasing. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 930,973.
