A branch terminal for making a tap connection to insulated cores of a cable, of the kind disclosed and claimed in parent Specification, comprises contact members 12, each having a plurality of rows of spaced teeth 17, each tooth having two parallel end-faces 1711 which, in use, lie parallel to the cable axis. A modified contact member (Fig. 5, not shown) comprises teeth having increased angles in the region of their tips.
