A golf practise device comprises a base 10 having a fixed marker 11 indicating the position of one of a golfers feet and two slidable markers 12, 13 which can indicate in terms of markings along its length the correct positions of the golfer's other foot and the ball for playing a stroke, the markings being expressed in terms of the type of stroke and/or the club to be used. As shown, the markers 12 and 13 slide along a common axis 14. The base may have an arrow head 17 and tail 18 to assist in aligning it.
