Abstract
1,259,385. Moulding test specimens. J. R. DISTASIO. 19 March, 1969, No. 14531/69. Heading B5A. [Also in Division E1] Test cores are obtained from, e.g. cast-in-situ concrete floors, by employing a two-part mould, comprising an outer frusto-conical member A and an inner cylindrical member B which may be integral with, or separate from the outer member. When the mould is in two parts, the member A, together with the concrete inside it, member B, and the concrete therewithin, are all removed together from the in-situ mass, or alternatively everything inside member A is so removed, and thereafter the core is removed from this body, in the member B, either by driving it out, or chipping away the surrounding concrete. The core is thereafter driven out of member B. With a one-piece mould, the core is driven straight out of the mould after it has been removed from the in-situ mass. A separate inner member B may be supported on a block, or an inner, vertical peripheral wall on member A with an integral or separate partition across the top.
