Abstract
1,258,664. Measuring fluid-flow. D.M. DAVEY. May 6, 1970 [Feb.6, 1969J, No.6533/69. Heading G1R. In a wind velocity indicator a hollow tube 1 is pivotally connected at 18 to a handle 15 and the tube bore is partially obstructed by a pivotally mounted vane 2, counterweighted at 4, and the arrangement is such that the turning moment produced by the wind force on the vane 2 pivots the vane and to indicate the wind velocity on a scale 13 such as a Beaufort scale. The vane 2 is held in position by screws held in projections 24 bearing on the ends of small silicone rubber cylinders held in the vane 2 and by exerting a different pressure by the screws on the cylinder ends a damping force may be exerted on the vane 2.
