Abstract

1,258,388. Feedback amplifiers. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. 25 Sept., 1970, No. 45919/70. Addition to 1,257,878. Headings H3W and H4R. Negative feedback amplifier, Fig. 1, comprises an amplifier unit 4 having six terminal bridge units 1 and 2, of the type described in parent Specification, in its input and output circuits to couple the lines, the amplifier unit, and the feedback circuit together. The bridge networks are so adjusted as to present conjugate arms to the line and to the feedback circuit so that the coupling therebetween is zero. The circuit is analysed to develop the relations between the bridge circuit resistances, the line resistances and the input and output impedances of the amplifier circuit. In addition, the characteristics required of the feedback network for various amplifier characteristics are derived.
