[Also in Division C2] A pharmaceutical composition comprises an organo-germanium tumour-retarding agent of the formula I: in which R is a divalent alkylene radical and R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are both hydroxyl groups or both amino groups, in association with a pharmaceutical carrier or diluent. The composition preferably comprises an injectable aqueous solution.
