A clamp for use with an upwardly movable flexible door 13 which is windable upon a roller 12 at its lower end, comprises a baseplate 16, a two-armed lever 25 having one arm 29 shaped to extend in use in clamping position over and partly around the roller, with one end of the arm free, the lever being pivoted on the base-plate about a fixed axis passing through the lever substantially at the junction of its arms, a handle 45, and link mechanism 32, 44 between the handle and the other arm 30 of the lever for moving the lever in use to a release position in which it lies to one side of the roller and to the clamping position in which the link mechanism prevents movement of said one arm 29 from the clamping position, the arrangement being such that the centre of gravity of the lever lies on that side of the axis which is nearer the free end of the said one arm 29 when the lever is in the clamping position and on that side of the axis which is nearer the end of the said other arm 30 when the lever is in the release position. In the construction shown the link mechanism comprises a lift link 32 and an operating member 44, the lift link 32 being pivotally connected by one end portion to the lever 25 and by its other end portion to the operating member 44; the operating member is slidably disposed on the base plate and in use extends underneath the roller to the opposite side of the door to the side upon which the lever 25 is disposed and it is provided with the handle 45 to enable the lever to be pivoted between its clamping and releasing positions. The lever can also be pivoted from the side of the door upon which it is disposed since it is provided with a grip handle 33. The lift link comprises two end portions connected together by a bolt 41 having oppositely threaded end portions so that by turning the bolt the length of the lift link can be adjusted. In the securing position the lower end of the lift link abuts against a flange 47 of the base plate and is at a slight angle to the vertical so that it resists upward movement of the arm 29 of the lever 25. The lever carries a pair of rollers 37 at its free end portion which engage the roller 12 and the pivot pin 24 by which the lever is connected to bosses 23 extending from the base plate also carries rollers 27 which engage the roller 13. The base plate is releasably attached to the floor in use adjacent the door by means of jaws 19 and 20, 21 (not shown) in such a way that it can be slidably removed by sliding the base plate parallel to the axis of the roller.
