Abstract

1,257,181. Moulding processes and apparatus. BAKER PERKINS Ltd. 14 Aug., 1969 [16 July, 1968], No. 33788/68. Heading B3F. [Also in Division B1] A sand/resin mix and a sand/catalyst mix are fed by separate mixers 1, 2 to the top of a mixing chamber 3. The sand mixtures fall on to a 9 inch drum 5, having circumferentially spaced rods 6, which drum rotates in the direction indicated by the arrow at 1000 R.P.M. (drum peripheral speed 2350 f.p.m.) The two mixtures are intimately mixed and the resultant composition leaves the mixer by a jet 8 to enter a core shooter below (not shown). The rods 6 are wiped clean by combs 10.
