Abstract
1,257,008. Cement Sulphuric acid Process. STICKSTOFFWERK PIESTERITZ VEB. 19 May, 1970, No. 24169/70. Heading C1H. In the Cement Sulphuric acid Process the waste gases from the cement rotary kiln are used to preheat the raw stock in a fluidized bed heat exchanger, and, by using a reducing flame in the kiln its said gases contain an equivalent amount of CO 2 and/or H 2 S and/or sulphur vapour which quantitatively removes the oxygen content of the gas atmosphere in the heat exchanger resulting from infiltration of air. The waste gas leaving the heat exchanger operating at 800‹ C. has a CO content of at least 0À1% and an oxygen content of at most 0À5%. In an example the oxygen content of the heat exchanger atmosphere was reduced from 1À3% to 0À45%.
