Abstract

Joints and connexions.-A joint for connecting the end bars of mattresses to bedstead pillars com. prises a bracket, on which the end bar rests, secured to the pillar and provided with movable and fixed abutments between which the end bar is clamped. The bracket may be secured by bolts 15, 16 to a base-plate 6 screwed to the post, a slot 18 being provided in the bracket to allow adjustment. The end-bar of a mattress rests on a flat surface 8 and is clamped by a screw 11 against a fixed abutment 13. In the form shown in Fig. 6, the projecting arm of the bracket is pivotally mounted in a lug 29 so that it may be folded upwards. In the modification shown in Fig. 11, the bracket arm is pivoted at 39 to a right-angled bracket 40, stops 42, 43 being provided to maintain the arm in extended position.
