Abstract
125,641. Schneider et Cie. May 25, 1916, [Convention date]. Secondary frames.-In an endless-track vehicle of the kind in which the frame is supported at each side by one or more trucks riding on the tracks, the frame is mounted so as to allow the tracks to follow the inequalities of the ground, and means is provided for supporting the upper runs of the tracks. The frame B is supported at the rear near the driving-sprockets D by means of springs H, S resting on the rear trucks G, and at the front by means of lighter springs K which rest on a transverse member I, the ends of which are connected by ball-and-socket joints J to the front trucks. The rear trucks are connected by a twopart member Q, R which permits slight relative rotary motion between the trucks, and is connected thereto by means of vertical hinged joints, or, as shown, by thin plates Q<2>. The member Q, R is connected to the frame by means of a pivoted member N, a similar member M connecting one of the front trucks to the frame. The trucks are connected with the frame by pivoted members P. The upper runs of the trucks are supported by rollers T in a frame U, which is pivoted at the rear to the main frame at T<1>, and at the front is carried by a pivoted member V on the front truck. In a modification, single trucks replace the two-part pivoted trucks.
