Abstract
1,255,591. Composition comprising beta-imidazole-acrylic acid. TAISHO PHARMACEUTICAL CO. Ltd. 2 Jan., 1970, No. 227/70. Heading A5B. A composition for use as eye drops or an eye lotion comprises from 0.5-5.0% by weight of #-imidazole-acrylic acid or a physiologically acceptable salt thereof in a buffer solution maintaining the composition at a pH in the range 6.0 to 8.0. Discolouration of the composition may be prevented by the addition of an E.D.T.A. sodium salt. An antiseptic such as thimerosal or benzalkonium chloride may also be present.
