1,254,767. Methyl 2,5-hexadienoate. MONTECATINI EDISON S.p.A. 1 April, 1969 [3 April, 1968], No. 17076/69. Heading C2C. Methyl 2,5-hexadienoate is prepared by reacting acetylene, allyl chloride and carbon monoxide in methanol in which nickel carbonyl, allyl chloride and thiourea have been reacted together, the pH of the methanol solution being maintained at 4 to 6.
