A console (1) houses a drawer 2 supported on a slideway secured to the console, the slideway being provided with means which is engageable with the drawer 2 and against which the drawer is pressed by a spring 20 in the closed position of the drawer, and the console being provided with a small opening 24 to receive a screwdriver B to lever the drawer out of engagement with the locking means against the action of the spring 20. In one embodiment, Figs. 2, 4 a leaf spring 20 is carried by a cross rail 13 of the slideway and bears on the upper edge of the rear wall 9 of the drawer 2. Inner flanges 14, 15 of slide rails 11, 12 engage recesses (16, 17) in the rear wall 9. Ejection of the drawer 2 by the spring 20 after release of the locking means is limited by engagement of a stop 26 on a drawer side 8 in a recess 27 in a slide rail flange 15. The locking means comprises the rear ends of the flanges 14, 15 behind which a downwardly extending part of the rear wall 9 engages. The front wall 3 of the drawer 2 may carry an insulating board 6 for mounting components of an electric circuit. In another embodiment, Fig. 8, the locking means comprises upturned ends 33, 34 of a pair of slide rails 31, 32. Ejection of the drawer 2<SP>1</SP> is limited by engagement of stops 37, 38 on the drawer sides 7<SP>1</SP>, 8<SP>1</SP> in openings 35, 36 in the rails 31, 32. Further stops 39, 40 limit upward displacement of the rear end of the drawer.
