[Also in Division A4] A urine collecting device for women consists of a hollow plastics vessel suitable to be enfolded by the labia minora of the user. The hour glass shaped inlet in the top surface comprises a forward aperture 38a to receive fluids from the region of the urethral meatus, a narrow intermediate aperture portion 38b to receive fluid from the region of the vaginal orifice, and a distal aperture portion 38c to receive voided fluids from the ambient introital regions when the device is operatively positioned. The device may be worn by an ambulatory patient or used as a bed-pan. The lower surface of the vessel comprises a draining duct 32 and a fin-shaped projection 48 designed to facilitate insertion and removal. The vessel also comprises two upwardly extending U- shaped projections 40a and 40b that depress the vaginal introitus thereby creating a pool area which assists in directing fluid flow into the collecting chamber 46.
