Abstract

1,253,181. Protecting packages. TORAY INDUSTRIES Inc. 10 Feb., 1970 [14 Feb., 1969], No. 6258/70. Heading B8C. A roll 4 of a filmy article is provided with at least one detachable resinous layer 3 covering at least one side surface of the roll by spreading a resinous substance on the surface by means of a brush, a roller or a sprayer. As shown, the layer, which may cover also the peripheral surfaces of the roll adjacent the side surfaces, may be a copolymer, a cellulose derivative, a polyvinyl alcohol, a silicon resin mixture including polyvinyl acetate and polyvinyl alcohol or acrylic paints. A protector plate (6), Fig. 3 (not shown) may be applied to the roll, the plate having a projection (7) inserted into the central core support (1).
