Abstract

125,212. Major, M. B. F., and Thompson, F. W. April 9, 1918. Plant.-In a trap for recovering grease from kitchen waste-water &c. of the type described in Specifications 16069/13 and 122,248, [Class 33, Drains &c.], and comprising a settling chamber and a discharge chamber separated by a partition, the opening in this partition is controlled by a float-valve operated by the level of the liquid in the settling chamber. The liquid enters through an inlet chamber 5, whence it passes to the settling chamber 6 through perforations 7 in a partition 2. The perforations 7 are preferably many in number and small, or gauze may be used. They are preferably near the upper level of the liquid. From the settling chamber 6 the heavier liquid passes to the discharge chamber 12 through an opening 13 near the bottom of the partition 8 controlled by a valve 14 operated by a float 15. The liquid leaves the chamber 12 by an opening 10 arranged above the opening 13 and below the bulk of the openings 7. Grease &c. are removed through openings 17 controlled by valves.
