Abstract

In a block of flats, material from a refuse shoot is received in a bin B carried on a platform 6 which is supported by means of a leg 5 from a canopy 4 mounted on the piston of an hydraulic cylinder operated by a pump 2. Operation.-The hydraulic cylinder is operated to lower the canopy 4; three empty bins are then placed on the platforms 6. The hydraulic cylinder is then operated to raise the canopy 4 to lift the bins off the ground. The canopy 4 is pivotally mounted on the hydraulic piston to permit rotations of the bins when they are full and the bins are then lowered to be replaced. The bins are held in place by chains 8.
