Abstract

1,251,648. Composition for treating hair. FISONS PHARMACEUTICALS Ltd. 26 Feb., 1969 [14 March, 1968], No. 12445/68. Heading ASB. [Also in Division C3] A composition comprises an aqueous solution of a cationic surface active agent or an ampholytic surface active agent which exists in the cationic form at the pH of the composition, the surface active agent being substantive to human hair, the solution having dispersed therein a water-dispersible polyalkylene oxide resin and one or more other waterdispersible solid materials; which composition has been subjected to sufficient high speed shear working to cause irreversible shear clearage of the polyalkylene oxide resin. The shear working may be carried out in stages following the incorporation of ingredients into the composition. The composition may also contain conventional ingredients such as pigments, dyes, perfumes and bacteriocides. The pH of the solution may be adjusted with an acidic material such as citric, tartaric or hydrochloric acid.
