Abstract
1,251,062. Moulding electrical connector units. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 25 Feb., 1969 [1 March, 1968], No. 10075/68. Heading B5A. [Also in Division H2] A method of manufacturing a connector unit includes the steps of (1) physically and electrically connecting a lead to one end 16, 16a of a terminal cylindrical pin 11, (2) deforming the pin adjacent said end so as to close the cylinder at 18, (3) placing said one end of the pin in a mould, and (4) filling the mould with molten insulating material which when set constitutes an insulating body supporting the pin the deformed portion of which prevents loss of insulating material from the mould through the pin. A plurality of pins are formed by stamping from a continuous sheet of copper.
