Abstract

1,250,795. Theft proof housing. LAUNDER LEASE PTY. Ltd. 23 Dec., 1968, No. 60996/ 68. Heading E2X. [Also in Divisions G4 and G6] A theft-proof housing for a coin meter comprises an open fronted box 8, a removable panel 10, a locking member 21, and an aperture 9 such that when closed the only access to the interior is via said aperture, the panel 10 and box 8 cooperating in such a way that the panel can only be removed after at least an initial movement in a particular first direction, the locking member 21, secured to the box by a padlock, preventing movement of the panel in said first direction, locating means e.g. 25, on the locking member being cooperable with the box 8 to prevent disengagement of the locking member except in a second direction substantially at right angles to said first direction, and cooperable means e.g. 31, 32 on both box and locking member providing protection for the bolt of the padlock 22. The front panel 10 has a peripheral flange 12 which is provided along one edge with studs 13 to cooperate with holes in one edge of the box. A tongue 15 secured to the panel defines a cavity 19 and has an edge 16 parallel with the end of the box 8. The locking member 21 has a tongue 23 engageable in cavity 19 and has studs 38, secured to a front portion 33, to engage in sockets 36 on the tongue 15. Thus, on removal of the padlock the locking member may only be removed downwards, and subsequently the panel 10 may only be removed after an initial leftwards motion.
