[Also in Division B8] A label is applied to a hollow article during blow-moulding, the label having a discontinuous coating thereon to provide air spaces between the label and hollow article, the coated area preferably being smaller than the uncoated area forming the air space. The coating may be applied in strips, either horizontal or vertical, or dots, arranged in staggered or aligned rows or in intersecting lines and may form a continuous peripheral portion. The coating material may be sealable, adhesive or weldable. The label may be held in the mould by means of suction. The mould may have a peripheral groove surrounding the edge of the label. The label may be coloured and/or printed.
