Abstract

1,249,827. Mixing solids and liquids. HENRY SIMON Ltd. 29 June, 1970 [21 Aug., 1969], No. 41661/69. Heading B1C. A solid in a hopper 16 is put into suspension in a conveying gas through a rotary airlock 15 and injected below the surface of liquid in a tank 10, the gas being vented at 11. The inlet may enter the tank radially or tangentially or at an intermediate angle and injection of gas alone may be continued to promote mixing by circulation or turbulence.
