[Also in Division H3] A glass composition consists of, in per cent by weight:- SiO 2 .. .. .. 45 - 60 PbO .. .. .. 25 - 50 BnO .. .. .. 5 - 20 Al 2 O 3 .. .. .. 0À1 - 4 K 2 O (as the sole alkali metal oxide present) 0 - 3 Compatible materials 0 - 10 The compatible materials may be Sb 2 O 3 , CaO, B 2 O 3 and/or As 2 O 3 . Preferably the K 2 O content is supplied as K 2 CO 3 . The composition may be used as the delay line medium in a solid ultrasonic delay line.
