Abstract
1,248,967. Advancing mine roof supports. HERMANN HEMSCHEIDT MASCHINENFABRIK. 2 Dec., 1968 [29 Feb., 1968], No. 57123/68. Heading E1P. An advancing mine roof support is provided with an advancing ram 1 which is mounted in a spherical bearing 2 and pivotably connected to a bearing block 5. The block 5 is connected by a pair of pivotal thrust rods, see Fig. 2 (not shown), to the conveyor 7 whilst an elastically flexible guide rod 10 mounted on the conveyor passes through a friction bearing 14 in the block 5 and is guided in lugs 15, 16 to accommodate misalignment and relieve the ram of undesirable stresses, see also Fig. 4 (not shown).
